The Nokia 6280 is a revolutionary 3G mobile phone and is the follow up model to the Nokia 6270. The Nokia 6280 has two built in cameras, a 2 megapixel camera found on the rear side that has a function of 8 times digital zoom and a flash, while the other camera which is used for video calling is located on the front part of the mobile phone.
The Nokia 6280 comes with an expandable mini SD memory card and uses a Nokia series 40 platform for mobile phones and can be locked in the network by using a locking mechanism called the base band 5. All of Nokia 6280 are available in mainly four colors: Burnt Orange, Silver, Plum and Black.
The Nokia 6280 is stylish and trendy and is a bit smaller than the 2G counterpart 6270, it measures 100 x 46 x 21 in millimeters and weighs around 115 grams a fairly light weight device that brings convenience and easiness of using.
Users agrees that the main star of Nokia 6280 is its 2 megapixel camera found on the back of the mobile phone, it comes with a flash and a mirror for self portrait located next to the camera. The second camera of VGA nature is found on the front of the mobile phone and is used for video conferencing and calls.
The Nokia 6280 allows users to assign a particular video and call ringtones to different profiles for incoming video and phone calls, users can choose to use a master video file or a another one for each of your contacts.
The Nokia 6280 offers a high resolution screen of QVGA nature with around 320 x 240 pixels which can equal to about 262,000 colors. Having a video call or watching a video clip can be an entertaining and worthwhile multimedia experience.
The built in player for music allows user to listen to a collection of songs stored on the internal memory of the Nokia 6280 which is about 10 MB, although fairly small user can use the 64 MB mini SD memory card for more storage space. A small video file can also be squeezed in for future watching experience. Other multimedia features of Nokia 6280 is the FM radio with a tuner, a web browser, organizer, voice recorder, unit recorder, world clock and at least three entertaining games like Snake IV, Rally 3D and Golf Tour. Emphasis on the game of snake as the Nokia 6280 shows it in a 3D animated cartoon game that offers more visual feast.
Nokia 6280 also allows Bluetooth technology connectivity to other device with Bluetooth capabilities. With full use of the music, radio and video player the battery of the Nokia 6280 can function for at least three days.
Over-all the Nokia 6280 is a fine piece of device that caters to individuals with good taste in mobile phones that delivers the best multimedia function, the built camera for picture taking and video phone calls, music and video players and the connectivity to other networks makes this a truly unique mobile phone that lives up to the rich tradition of Nokia phones of the past.
